Interpreters Arabic ↔ English

Interpreters transmit the spoken word from one language to another. The Arabic ↔ English Interpreters have years of experience in interpreting complex contents. Many of our consecutive and simultaneous Arabic-English interpreters are members of recognized professional organizations and are undoubtedly among the best in their field.

Professional interpreters Arabic ↔ English

In order to meet our clients’ high expectations in terms of quality, Translation Agency Vienna | Connect Translations Austria GmbH works exclusively with well-trained, highly qualified and professional Arabic interpreters.

  • In the case of simultaneous interpreting, interpreters hear the speech that is to be interpreted via a headset. Simultaneous interpreters (also referred to as conference interpreters) translate what they have heard (English or Arabic) into the target language (Arabic or English) more or less in real time and speak their interpretation into a microphone connected to the headsets of the listeners. Since these interpreters sit in special soundproof booths, simultaneous interpreting is often referred to as booth interpreting. Simultaneous Arabic ↔ English interpreters are primarily required for larger conferences and meetings.
  • In the case of whispered interpreting, the interpretation of what is said is simultaneously (in real time) whispered to a small group of people in the desired language. The interpreter sits in close proximity to the listeners. Whispered interpreting usually does not involve any technical equipment; sometimes, however, a mobile interpreting system (tour-guide system set) is used. Whispered interpreting is a special type of simultaneous interpretation.
  • In the case of consecutive interpreting, the interpreters listen to a complete segment of speech, take notes and then repeat what has been said in the target language immediately afterwards. Arabic ↔ English consecutive interpreters are mostly deployed for speeches aimed at a small group of people and for business negotiations. Consecutive interpreters are often referred to as liaison, negotiation or escort interpreters.

Remote interpreting – Arabic interpreters at online events and video conferences

Conferences and meetings are increasingly held online or in hybrid format. Remote interpreting takes this trend into account. Remote interpreting is a climate- and resource-friendly alternative to traditional simultaneous interpreting, where interpreters work in booths at the actual location of the event. The travelling expenses of the interpreter are reduced significantly or eliminated altogether. Special equipment is usually not required at the location. The interpreters join the conference remotely from their workplace. They use their computer and headset and tune in via a professionally managed video conference platform. A stable Internet connection is crucial. Don't hesitate to contact us for further advice! Just call us at +43 1 894 89 73 or send an email to office@connect-translations.at.

Interpreters Arabic ↔ English – a demanding profession

Simultaneous interpreting in particular is one of the cognitively most demanding activities there is. What is heard must be grasped in a matter of seconds in order to be reproduced instantaneously and in a coherent form in another language. This makes interpreting a mentally very strenuous task. For this very reason Arabic-English interpreters, like all other simultaneous interpreters, always work in pairs. They take turns every 20-30 minutes in order to ensure that they can deliver high-quality interpreting even at all-day events.

The seemingly endless range of topics that an Arabic ↔ English interpreter may encounter at work makes the targeted preparation of contents before an assignment essential. This is why Translation Agency Vienna | Connect Translations Austria requests its clients to provide sufficient reference and preparation material when placing an order.

Interpreters Arabic English – costs

The costs for interpretation assignments consist of the interpreter’s fee plus ancillary costs such as travelling expenses, costs for accommodation & board as well as any compensations for travel time or per diems.

The interpreter's fee is charged according to time. The half-day rates (up to four hours), full-day rates (up to eight hours) and rates for additional hours vary depending on the specialist field, language combination and type of interpreting (simultaneous interpreting, consecutive interpreting). For evening events, night operations and events on weekends and public holidays, there are usually additional costs (surcharges).

In order to keep travel costs and compensations for travel time as low as possible, we will of course try to appoint Arabic interpreters who live close to the event location. As an interpreting agency that operates internationally we also have an excellent network of interpreters in various European countries. This enables us to keep the interpreters' travel costs to and from the event low, even when interpreting abroad.
